Valentine Stamp Camp

Today is my Mom & Me Valentine Stamp Camp and my regular Valentine Stamp Camp. I'm excited for both of them and am sure everyone will love the projects. I've already shared the Mom & Me samples, so here are the projects for the regular camp.

The difference between the two camps is that the regular camp is making chocolate nugget tins instead of Cupid Soup, making 4 love notes instead of 2, and receiving a whole pack of Bali Breeze Designer Paper.

The nugget tins are from Specialty Bottle. The tins themselves are pretty cheap at $0.80 a piece, but it's the shipping that hits you! I paid around $13-14 in shipping for 25 tins. The company has so many different types of tins and bottles. Lots of fun items to be altered.

Sale-a-Bration!

February 1 - March 17, 2008

It's almost that time of the year. Sale-a-Bration!!!! I know many of you look forward to this every year. For those of you who are new to Stampin' Up!, Sale-a-Bration (SAB) is one of the happiest times of the stampin' year. Why? Because each year during SAB, SU! puts out a special mini catalog with 6 stamp sets or other products that you can earn for FREE! If you're on my mailing list, you should have received or will receive a SAB catalog very soon.

Customers, with each $50 purchase (before shipping and tax), you can choose one of the special items for free. This year, you can choose from 5 fantastic stamp sets or a special pack of rub-ons. Spend $100, choose 2 sets, and so on! There is no limit---with each $50 purchase, pick a SAB gift!

Hostesses can choose a free SAB item with every $300 in net sales. Sales of $600, earn 2 sets!

New recruits who sign up during SAB, can choose any stamp set from the Spring/Summer Collection 2008 absolutely free. If you would like some information on being a Stampin' Up! Blog Candy #1

I meant to do this when my counter hit 500, but I think that was around Christmas and I just never got around to it.

So, what is Blog Candy? It's a little gift from me to you for visiting my blog.

Who gets Blog Candy? A person who enters the Blog Candy "contest" and gets picked at random. This means I pull a name from a basket.

How do you enter? Leave a comment to this post telling me your favorite project from my blog. Click on Comments at the bottom of the post.

What do you get? I have a new, unopened package of Natural Hemp Twine and set of 4 fantastic cards made by yours truly!

The deadline for entering this blog candy contest is 9:00 PM Sunday, January 27. I will post the winner by the following morning. Good luck!

Typos & Recipe Swap Samples

Well, I have decided that it's really not a good idea to post to my blog or website past midnight anymore. If you have checked either of these in the last couple of days, you may have seen some discrepancies in my last couple of posts. Everything is updated with current information now, so be sure to re-read any posts that were of interest to you. Thanks, Kymm, for bringing this to my attention!

I just love how the Voila! Recipe Album turned out. I have never stamped on a linen album before and was a bit hesitant to try it. But, everything worked out and I am happy with the finished product. I mentioned that I would post some samples of Recipe swaps. These samples are from a swap that I participated in with some demo friends a long time ago. Pretty much all of the stamps you see are retired now, but I want to give you an idea of how to do the swaps.

Voila! Recipe Book

Here is the sample for my Voila! Recipe Book Class. The class fee of $35 includes your a 6x6 ring album (you choose color--Natural, Red, Moss, or Navy) and a set of page protectors. You will have room for up to 60 recipes. If you want to stamp on the front of your album like I did, I do not recommend getting the Navy album. My color scheme is Real Red, Always Artichoke, and Creamy Caramel. You can choose different colors for your album.

You may also add any or all of the following stamp sets to your class fee at "catalog price." That means you don't pay shipping or tax on the sets--saving you 17%!

We will make 6 dividers using the From the Kitchen Of stamp set and the round tab punch.

Ribbon Jars

Do you have scraps of ribbon laying around? Can you even find the baggy that you put them in? Well, I have a quick and easy project for you--a ribbon jar! Isn't this cute? It's perfect for displaying on a shelf. I'm going to make another one to put my punched out punches in.

Can you see the yummy new, striped ribbon in the jar? My spools just arrived yesterday and the ribbon is fantastic! I made these ribbon jars for my Clubbers. Club #1 just started a new round last night and I like to make them a little something at the beginning of each round.

Project Supplies:

Cardstock: Chocolate Chip (2 1/8 x 3 5/8"), Very Vanilla (1 7/8" x 3 3/8")
Ink: Purely Pomegranate, Chocolate Chip, Versamark
Stamps: r monogram, Rough Edges Alphabet
Accessories: 1 Quart wide-mouthed mason jar (I found a box of 12 for only $10 at Odd Lots), Clear Embossing Powder, Heating Tool, 1/8" hand punch, Linen Thread (@7"), any type of ribbon to tie around the top (@20"), Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla, and Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon

Where in the World Could the Class Samples Be?

I know some of you are probably wondering what ever happened to me posting the pictures of my upcoming class samples? Well, I was waiting on my new catalog order for some new stuff to use for these classes, and forgot to expedite shipping. Which means that my new stuff won't be here until Monday! So, I hope to have everything ready by Wednesday or Thursday. Check back here for samples of my Mom & Me Valentine Stamp Camp, regular Valentine Stamp Camp, Voila! Recipe Book, and February Stamp-a-Stack samples.

Were you waiting to see pictures before RSVPing for a class? I will extend the RSVP dates for the Valentine Stamp Camps to Saturday, the 19th. That gives you some time to decide and still gives me enough time to prepare for the classes.

Baby Shower Ensemble

Okay, I am such a slacker! I haven't posted anything in a long time. I am taking 4 online computer classes at Sinclair this quarter and have been working on homework and other stuff for my classes. I will take 3 more courses next quarter, and will be able to re-certify my teaching certificate. My hope is to get a job at a virtual academy so that I can still stay home with Kyle.

Back to stamping! I threw my sister-in-law a baby shower last weekend. We had a small turnout, but it sure was fun planning! I stamped matching invitations and thank you notes to start. Then I wanted to carry over the lion theme to my games. As many of you know, I am addicted to the Scallop Punch and poking the little holes in each scallop. So, I punched and pierced all the little scallops for the 2-4-6-8 party favor boxes, too! If you've never made a 2-4-6-8 box, you're in for a treat. They are so easy to make and can be used for so many occasions. Here are the directions:

Start with a half sheet of cardstock (8 1/2 x 5 1/5). Score long ways at 2", 4", 6", & 8". Turn the paper and score at 2". You now have 4 tall boxes with 4 short boxes below. You have a skinny tab that is divided into two sections--one tall, one short. Use scissors to cut the lines of the 4 short boxes--stop when you get to the perpendicular line of the tall boxes. Now, cut off the small, skinny section. You are left with a skinny tab--cut each end at an angle. Fold on all scored lines. Apply strong adhesive (if you're doing this for a very special occasion or making these way ahead of time, I recommend using our Sticky Strip) on each of the small boxes and along the tab. Fold up small boxes to make the bottom of your box and insert the tab inside to close it. You can push in the sides of the box and close it at the top with ribbon like I did or just keep it open. Add a handle with ribbon.

So, after making the party favors, I decided to add more of those cute little scalloped circles to the basket I bought for "tray game." This is the game where you put a whole bunch of baby items in a tray or basket for people to look at and try to remember what they saw. The basket and its contents go to the Mama to Be, of course. I ran these scallops through my laminator and attached them to the basket with Mini Glue Dots. But, I didn't stop there! Have you ever played the Baby Food game--where everyone looks at jars of baby food without labels and guesses what is inside? Well, I just don't like the idea of not having labels on the food, so I cut strips of Designer paper to cover the labels. And, I added scalloped circles on the tops. Can you say obsessed?! After all that, I decided it was best to just STOP. I do think everything turned out really cute, though!
