September Card Kit

Well, I'm ready to kick of my new series of Monthly Card Kits with a new and improved format! Now the card kits will feature an optional product as well as stamp set that you can purchase at catalog price--that means no shipping/no tax will be added to the price (a savings of 17%!). This will allow more flexibility in card kit designs since the amount of product that comes in "bulk" is limited.

In addition, each card kit will now feature two card designs. You will receive supplies to make 6 of each design for a total of 12 cards. You will also receive 2 additional full color samples of "alternative" cards that you can make with the combined contents of the kit as well as complete step by step directions for all four cards. All of this for only $15! I will happily ship card kits to you for an additional $3.

This month's kit features the new Eastern Blooms stamp set found on page 91 of the new Fall/Winter Idea Book & Catalog for $21.95. The featured product is a package of Clear Buttons found on page for $4.95.

So what do you get?

* All the consumable supplies needed to make 12 cards, plus envelopes. The cardstock is cut to size for you.

* Detailed, step by step instructions on how to complete each of the 4 card designs.

Orders and payment for the Card kits must be received by September 15. If you wish to include any add-on products, payment is due at this time, also.

Add-on Products*:
· Pacific Point Classic Inkpad ($5.25)
· Kiwi Kiss Classic Inkpad ($5.25)
· Baja Breeze Classic Inkpad ($5.25)
· Pumpkin Pie Classic Inkpad ($5.25)
· Close to Cocoa Stampin' Write Marker ($3.25)
· Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Marker ($3.25)

Other Optional Purchases*:
· 1" Circle Punch ($10.95)
· ¾" Circle Punch ($10.95)
· Stampin' Dimensionals ($3.95)
· 2-Way Glue Pen ($3.50)

*Regular tax and shipping will be added to these items.

Baby Shower Gift

I wanted to share a picture of one of the gifts I made for my brother's girlfriend's shower. Isn't it adorable? This is a paint can decorated with Stampin' Up's fantastic Designer Papers and ribbons. I just love the mini scrapbook with room to jot down little happenings each month for the first year. The idea of the book is to also add a picture on the other side. Inside I put the mini scrapbook, some receiving blankets, and mini bottles of shampoo, baby wash, etc. Of course as an Aunt-to-Be, I had to buy some other fun stuff, too!

This project uses the Nursery Necessities stamp set. It is a really great set for making cards as well as scrapbook pages.

All you have to do is email me a picture of your finished project and you'll be entered into the raffle for a set of cards.

If you still want to make the project, you will find it here. Have fun!

August Project Challenge

envelope card

You have until August 30 to submit your entry for this month's Project Challenge. This is an envelope card that can be used to hold gift cards, money, candy, and more. This project uses ALL NEW materials. The colors used are from the new In Color Line--Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss. I love the new Bella Rose Designer Paper. The stamp is from a beautiful new set called Dreams du Jour.

Here's what you'll need:
  • 4 1/4 x 10 3/4 sheet of cardstock

  • 4 x 4 and 1 3/4 x 4 pieces of coordinating Designer Paper

  • Coordinating cardstock for image and matting--my measurements are:
    Whisper White: 1 3/4 x 1 3/4
    Riding Hood Red 2 x 2
    Kiwi Kiss 2 1/4 x 2 1/4

  • Stampin' Dimensionals
  • Paper cutter with scoring blade
  • 2 standard envelopes 3 5/8 x 6 1/2"--not the kind SU sells.
  1. Be sure to have all of your paper cut to the sizes mentioned above. Take the 4 1/4 x 10 3/4 sheet of cardstock and score it along the long edge at 4 1/4 and 8 3/4.

  2. Adhere your Designer Paper to the appropriate places on your cardstock. Stamp your image and adhere it to the mats.

  3. Attach 2 Stampin' Dimensionals to the back of your matted images at the bottom. This piece is what we use to hold the card closed.

  4. envelope card

  5. Peel off the backings of the Stampin' Dimensionals and adhere it to the folded "card" being sure to overlap the flap of the card.

  6. Seal both envelopes and cut them at 4".

  7. Run a line of adhesive on the back of your envelope (from the open top to the bottom)and attach it to the back of the other envelope. Now, I used the envelopes I had on hand, but if I would choose, I would buy the cheap envelopes that are all white--not with the security lining, so that they would look nicer.

  8. Run adhesive around one side of the envelope pair and attach it to the center of your cardstock as shown. Make sure the open end of the envelope is at the top.

  9. Run adhesive on the other envelope and fold over the cardstock to attach it. Now, when you open your card it opens slightly to show 2 pockets. Fill the pockets with gift cards, money, notes, candy--whatever you think of!

  10. Tuck the top flap behind the stamped image mat and you're finished! These cards will fit in the A2 envelopes that we normally use for cards.

Now, get busy! Remember to email me your finished project using any supplies you have on hand. I will randomly pick a winner to receive a stack of 5 cards with envelopes.
